Southwell and Nottingham Diocesan Guild Insurance Policy

At the AGM held at Southwell in 2001 it was agreed that an Insurance policy would be purchased to cover Resident Members and their pupils.

Schedule of Benefits

PERSONAL ACCIDENT

1 Death £10,000

Disablement

2 Loss of two or more Limbs or both Eyes or one of each £10,000
3 a) Loss of one Limb or Eye
b) Permanent total loss of Speech
c) Permanent total loss of Hearing in:
£10,000
i) both ears
ii) one ear (50% of the sum insured)
4 Permanent Total Disablement £10,000
5 Permanent Disability (Continental Scale)

6 Temporary Total Disablement (per week)
Benefit Period: 104 weeks

7 Temporary Partial Disablement (per week)

Nil

Benefit shall not be payable under more than one of Benefits 1,2,3,4,or 5 to an Insured Person in respect of any one accident

 Medical Expenses

In addition to the Benefits shown for each Category of Insured Persons, the Underwriters will pay any Medical Expenses necessarily incurred by the Insured or an Insured Person up to but not exceeding 10% of the total amount paid under Benefits Death, Disablement or Permanent Total Disablement or 25% of the amount paid under Disability Income Benefit, whichever is the greater, but subject to a maximum of £5,000 for each Insured Person.

 

Miscellaneous

Operative Time

It is hereby noted and agreed that the Operative Time is limited to whilst an Insured Person is on any Church premises for the purpose of bell ringing activities, namely ringing, instructing, maintaining, inspecting or doing work of any kind on church bells and/or towers and/or their fittings and framework. Excluding major restoration work.

It is hereby noted and agreed that the age limited is amended to 80 years inclusive.

It is further noted and agreed that:-
1. for Insured Persons under 16 years of age Death benefit is limited to £250 and benefit 6 is deleted.
2. for Insured Persons over 75 years of age benefits 6 & 7 are deleted.
3. for Insured Persons not gainfully employed benefit 6 is limited to essential out of pocket expenses directly attributable to Temporary Total Disablement and not recoverable elsewhere.
